PC BASE DVR's Are Classical Computers with Video Capture Cards Designed to Capture Video Images. Embedded (Standalone) DVR's  are Specifically Designed With Its Operation System and Application Software Contained in Firmware or Read Only Memory. Although Embedded DVR's Are Generally More Expensive as They Are Less Likely to Malfunction Over a PC Based DVR.

WHAT IS REMOTE VIEWING?

Most DVR Systems Can Provide You With Ability to View Live Images and View Recorded Footage from Another Location Over The Internet. This Is Called Remote Viewing.

Remote Viewing Setup is Simple But Has A Few Requirements. The First Is A STATIC IP. You May Need to Consult Your DSL Provider To Obtain the STATIC IP Address Or To Set Up An Static Ip. If You Have A Router You Will Have To Configure Your Settings To Allow For Video Passage. Once All The Settings Are Correct You Will Be Able To View Your Cameras On A Remote PC With The Provided Software.
